Dwyane Wade is participating in Olympic practices and is scheduled to play Friday against Canada. And it’s believed everything is happening with no pain from his bothersome left knee.
Some didn’t think Wade should play in the Olympics because he’s recovering from painful tendinitis that’s limited him the last two seasons. But if he’s healthy, which he says he is, he should play in the Olympics.
Sure, he could always aggravate the condition, or sustain some other kind of injury. And you can bet the Heat is very concerned about that possibility.
On the other hand, this could be the best way for Miami to find out if Wade can return to being D-Wade. And if he can’t for some reason, at least it gives the Heat a chance to make a move, such as trading a certain high-profile All-Star forward, before the season.
Hope for the best. But by playing in the Olympics at least Wade is giving Miami time to prepare for the worst.
